In order to provide complete information on the current status and development of the grids in the area where JSC IDGC of the North-West operates, Google Mapping of Power Facilities subsystem was developed. The automated forecasting system for future changes in loads and electricity consumption was based on the Grid Connection Automated Information System put in operation in the Company’s branches in January 2010. Work was carried out in accordance with the standard functional requirements for visualization of current loads at power centers (35 kV or above).
The Google Mapping of Power Facilities subsystem was put in operation at JSC IDGC of the North-West in late 2012.
The system contains information on power centers and grid structure. Automatically processed information is key to understanding future changes in power centers to get the big picture. An electronic map will display specifications of power facilities, including information on overloading, free capacity, and planned rebuild of power centers.
