JSC IDGC of the North-West is continuing to expand and strengthen cooperation with base universities in the field of scientific research, organization of practice for students studying power industry, and attracting the Company’s senior management staff to act as mentors and supervisors of students as well as to participate in state certification commissions.

Given the Company’s priority to provide training in the regions of presence of its branches, the Company carried out work on systematic cooperation with educational institutions in the area of training and improvement of professional skill under the Programs adapted to the needs of the power grid industry.

There are about 40 institutions of higher, secondary and further professional education with which the Company interacts on a regular basis, including St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University, St. Petersburg State Agrarian University, Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov. Pskov argo-technical college, FSAEI FVE St. Petersburg Power Engineering Institute of Professional Development.

In 2014, FSAEI HVE Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov and an affiliate of Arkhenergo signed a cooperation agreement on the foundation of a base electrical engineering and energy systems department at Arkhenergo.

Since 2009, a branch of the Energy and Transport Department of Murmansk State Technical University at Kolenergo affiliate provides training under HPE Programs based on the needs of the affiliate.

The Company continues cooperation with the SEI HPE Petrozavodsk State University (Kolsky branch). The Company signed a cooperation agreement with Khibini Technical College (branch) of HPE National University of Mineral Resources Mining University.

The main areas of cooperation are practicing, vocational guidance, targeted training.

In 2014, five-student construction teams worked in Arkhenergo, Vologdaenergo, Kolenergo, Komienergo and Novgorodenergo branches, each composed of 20 students from profession-oriented educational institutions of the North-West Region. Members of the student construction teams were involved in structural work in the production departments of the Company’s affiliates and in work with documents.
