Occupational Health and Safety Costs

Harm caused to victims of occupational accidents was compensated out of paid insurance contributions by the Social Insurance Fund in accordance with Federal Law No. 125-FZ on Mandatory Social Insurance against Occupational Accidents and Diseases dated August 24, 1998.

The Company’s total losses caused by occupational accidents, including expenses related to various expert inspections, transport, provision of working conditions for investigation committees and court judgements regarding occupational accidents of years, presented in the table.

In general, the structure and amount of occupational health and safety expenses are stable, as those are planned expenses. Certain variations may result from conclusion of agreements at better prices following tender procedures and procurement of protective clothing that is resistant to electric arc and has a double wear life.

There was some decrease in expenditure on accident prevention measures and activities on general improvement of working conditions because payment for special assessment of working conditions was deferred from 2014 to 2015. Moreover, 2013 saw a larger number of events (equipping meal rooms, procurement of lockers for protective clothing, purchase of radar cross section devices) with the aim to execute Action Plans to enhance and make working conditions healthy.
